I know that I am always talking about the great things my mom would cook. And I know I am always saying that it was my favorite thing. But seriously, this is my favorite thing! My mom made this candy a lot and I really love it!
There is a really popular recipe that involves layering "stuff" on top of crackers. This is not that recipe! (Although, I would like to try that recipe)
I have never made this candy myself, but in reading the recipe, it doesn't seem like it would be too hard. (I like easy!)
Here's the recipe if you want to give it a try!
2 c. sugar
2/3 c. milk
6 TBSP peanut butter
28 soda crackers, finely crushed
1 tsp. vanilla
Combine sugar and milk and bring to a boil. Boil 3 minutes. Remove from heat and add peanut butter, crackers and vanilla. Mix well. This candy thickens as it cools. Drop by spoonfuls on waxed paper.
I was reminded of how much I loved this candy while I was writing this post. i decided I was going to give it a try. But alas, not today! I need to buy peanut butter!
Note: 28 soda crackers is one sleeve of crackers.
Let me know if you decide to give it a try and let me know how you like it!
Thanks for stopping in and do come back often! The kitchen door is always open and there is always room for one more at the table!
